Best Backpack I've Owned
I can't review the 28L G3 from first hand knowledge, because thankfully the Venturesafe 25L G2 I've owned for the last 8 years is still going strong. There's a chance I'll be in the market for the G4+ in another 10 years or so, but so far this bag is still doing a great job while looking great at the same time.
I originally bought the G2 bag for a trip to SE Asia as my work backpack was in rough shape and a little too "accessible" for trusty use on packed metros. The G2 fit the bill well for that trip, including protecting a DSLR and a couple lenses. When I got back I decided to keep it as my daily driver and it's been serving trips to the office and travel across five continents ever since.
The only sign of use is a little wear through where it hits my lower back. I don't baby it either, it's seen its fair share of tossed in the back of trucks, kicked stuffed-to-the-gills under airplane seats and other random encounters. The size, side pockets, interior pockets, straps, locking zippers, etc, etc have made it my go to bag for every endeavor. I've used the locking straps to anchor it to a table or pole on a few occasions and the locking zippers regularly. The sternum strap has been a constant companion as well, keep everything close and secure when on the move or holding the occasional flashlight, knife jacket or water bottle. The side pockets are ideally suited for a rolled [rain] jacket/umbrella and a water bottle, and the straps that accompany them make sure they stay…
