Hamad International is a new arrival in the field, having just opened in 2014, and it sports some of the most interesting concepts and artwork of any airport in the world. The $6+ million yellow Lamp Bear by Swiss artist Urs Fischer is a popular focal point located in the center of the building. There’s also the enormous bronze sculpture playground waiting for kids in Arrivals and the desert horse sculptures outside adding to the intrigue. It’s playful, to say the least.
